Train operator Thalys wanted to remind people that Brussels was still a city worth visiting, despite heavy competition from other European heavyweights and increased pessimism following the 2016-17 terror attacks.
invited passersby to step into a 360° Holobooth for two minutes, capturing a complete likeness of them. This 360° render was then projected atop a pedestal, creating a holographic monument to the city’s most valuable asset: it’s people.
The installation was featured in Brussel’s Mont des Arts, or ‘Hill Of The Arts’: an urban complex and historic site which frequently hosts outdoor art exhibitions. 500 ‘holograms’ were created in total, each towering about 5m high.
